Introduction

After 10-month makeover, Orchard Road finally shows her new face to the foreign tourists and Singaporeans. What greet them are no longer the annoying noises of "Tat-tat-tat-tat-tat" or "Grr...grr...grr...". The shopping paradise is back with her new appearance and we have been missing her for 10 months! Though the responses of the citizens are not quite good, I have to argue that the 40-million facelift is not wasted. The changes of the road can stimulate the consumption in the shopping area. The new face attracts more people. Also the facelift help to promote the image of Singapore. By the makeover, we show the world a better Singapore.

  1. Points of commentary can be seen from the introduction, the starting of the introduction was interseting. However, i think that the thesis statement could be stronger.
